Urban Outfitters Fails to Engage the Community

So, last week, I linked to a blog post about Urban Outfitters’ attempt to steal from an independent jewelry designer and the eventual outrage that spread across all reaches of the Internet. Apparently, the company didn’t respond well to the criticism, or really at all.

Privacy Concerns Erode Social Media Users Satisfaction

According to a study by Netpop Research, a large percentage (about 40%) of people are explicitly concerned about privacy settings on social media. However, opinions differ greatly though from  network to network. Facebook users were the most concerned while YouTube and Twitter users tended to worry less about privacy.

NHL Teams Up with Twitter and Facebook for the Stanley Cup

During the playoffs NHL teams have made a fantastic effort to incorporate social media into their marketing approaches. The @NHLBruins have been particularly active with their team in the Stanely Cup Final. One of their Twitter-based contests include a scavenger hunt before one of their playoff games where the first person to solve the clues and show up at the landmark received free game and lottery scratch tickets.
